Interpreters ID cards

All registered interpreters carry an ID card that confirms their registration number and language(s) for which they are registered.

We are pleased to announce the launch of our new design ID Cards.  These ID Cards are printed on plastic with a holographic overlay for extra security.  The New ID Cards look like this;

Front                                                                                        Reverse

The new ID Cards will be sent to interpreters at annual registration which means that some interpreters will still present the old style ID Cards which look like this:

These cards will expire on 01 May 2011.

The ID card must be shown by the interpreter when first arriving at their assignment.

The information provided on an interpreter's ID card will show the following:

1.       Photograph

2.       Name and Registration number
For security reasons the name is shown on the reverse.

3.       Languages which an interpreter is registered for (interpreters must not imply that they are registered for any related or additional languages)

4.       Expiry Date

ID cards are first supplied to interpreters upon successful acceptance of their listing on the National Register. Each year upon successful renewal, an interpreter will be provided with an updated ID card.

Please note that an interpreter must not be booked for a language they are not registered for.
