Applications take approximately 4 weeks to process but may take
1. the application form is incomplete
2. additional material is needed
All applications which meet the criteria are considered by the
Selection Panel, which meets on a monthly basis.
An interpreter's application is valid for one year from the month
they are accepted onto the Register. Each interpreter must renew
their listing annually.
All fees are payable in advance, and applications will not be processed unless fees have been paid in full.
The current application fee for 1 language is £198.00 (including VAT).
If your application is unsuccessful you will receive a refund of £148.00 (we will keep £50.00 administration fee).
If you decide to leave the register once you have been accepted then fees are non-refundable. No refund of any part of the fees will be made where, for whatever reason, registration ceases during the year.
Interpreters applying for the first time with more than one language will need to pay a one off additional fee of £34.00 for each additional language.
